The L.A. Zoo is currently open with a modified experience. Advance purchase of date-specific tickets is recommended for all general admission guests. This lush oasis is home to thousands of animals – including one of the largest troops of chimpanzees in North America. Exhibit highlights include Rainforest of the Americas​,​ which transports guests to a tropical rainforest that's home to piranhas​,​ giant otters​,​ harpy eagles​,​ tapirs​,​ and jaguars​,​ and more. Other highlights include the massive Elephants of Asia habitat and the LAIR (Living Amphibians​,​ Invertebrates​,​ and Reptiles)​,​ where guests can view rare and endangered critters​,​ many of which can be seen at no other zoo in the world. The Zoo funds and participates in wildlife conservation programs all over the world​,​ which means that every ticket purchase helps protect endangered and vulnerable species.
