Hello, I'm The Shakespeare Society of America.
SSA began in a Tudor Style Mansion off Sunset Strip, near Mel’s Diner in west Los Angeles. Mission: Provide Public Benefit Programs that inspire education and personal development through the Works of William Shakespeare relating to history, culture, literature, theatre and art in America … By 1973 SSA was stage-centric at the Globe Playhouse in West Hollywood and designed, built and operated an authentic one-half scale replica of Shakespeare’s 1599 Globe Theatre interior. By September 2008 the SSA relocated to Moss Landing, California at the heart in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary in a facility called the New Shakespeare Sanctuary. Since then over 20,000 visitors from 144 countries and territories have visited the New Shakespeare Sanctuary and explored the SSA Collection.
