Description
I am a believer, a stepmother/ mother and former teacher who now supports homeschool families through tutoring/ coaching and consulting. You don't have to struggle and feel like just surviving the day is a success. You can choose to thrive! I have over a decade in the classroom including Early Childhood general education, Early Childhood Special Education Specialist, Reading Interventionist and tutor. I pursued additional traning to be an Early Childhood Trainer and Coach. As an educator I was passionate about developmentally appropriate practice and I still am. We always consider what is apppropriate for the age of the child. So no I don't tutor for hours on end and I don't teach toddlers things like trigonometry. Children learn best through play! Children learn faster through play. That is sometimes hard for adults to understand and why I find coaching and my blend of classroom and adult education experience so valuable. I can use my years of experience to help you see the learning that is happening. My version of tutoring I call Collaborative Tutoring. It combines one on one tutoring with an experienced teacher and coaching for the parent. I came to this after seeing my homeschool families struggle and decide to send their child back to the public school system. Tutoring is sometimes not enough support. This is where I come along side you and we tackle it together. If you need more in depth coaching, I also have coaching packages available. Please enquiry about availability.
